The Rascals played their second set of the 2008 Glastonbury this afternoon (June 27).
Having played a short, warm-up set before proceedings officially kicked off yesterday, the band promised "the full shebang" for their Other Stage set.
Arriving onstage to the title track of their new album 'Rascalize', the band tore through a longer set with "shebang" as they showcased their debut record.
Playing the likes of 'Bond Girl' and former singles 'Out Of Dreams' and 'Freakbeat Phantom' the band then dedicated a song to one of the growing crowd.
"This is for our mate Jay whose birthday it is, and for the mothers!" declared frontman Miles Kane before 'I'll Give You Sympathy', pointing to his friends and family in the crowd.

Wry, thoughtful singer/songwriter Cary Brothers bust into the mainstream with the single "Drear Eyes," a resplendently word lay he contributed to 2004's Grammy-winning, hip-artist-showcasing Garden State soundtrack. Born in 1974 to a watercolorist mother and surgeon father, Brothers eschewed the sounds of his native Nashville in favor of Britpop artists like the Cure and the Smiths. Brothers accompanied college at Northwestern University in the early '90s, where he met Zach Braff, the writer, director, and star of Garden State. Both stirred to L.A. subsequently graduation, where Braff rounded out his playing résumé and Brothers partnered with a ally to open a small production company that produced, among other things, the Freddie Prinze, Jr., motion-picture show Sparkler.
By 2002, though, his inherent aptitude to make music had overtaken his drive to fret shoulders with Hollywood insiders. Brothers, world Health Organization by so had developed an appreciation for the country people music he couldn't be daunted with as a kid in Nashville, began playing around L.A. at such venues as the Hotel Cafe, a local stalk for coming singer/songwriters. There he honed the early material that would make headway o'er more than 10,000 buyers for his reverb-ringed spring 2005 EP All the Rage.
Earlier that phonograph recording came out, though, Brothers -- with the serve of brother Braff -- had already taken his sound to the small covert after an appearance on Surgical gown. His swelling popularity, by then best evidenced by the iPod charts, where "Aristocratical Eyes" bust the Top 100 Songs list and topped the kinsfolk chart, was as well helped along by his business acumen. In 2004, he reach upon an idea for connecting with potential listeners: he conceived a disengage, downloadable "birdsong of the week," still uncommitted on his site, that would allow fans of his moody, Coldplay-meets-U2 good to post him feedback on what they liked and what, for them, could use some retooling.
By fall 2005, when a sec EP, Wait for Your Letter, was issued on his Procrastination Music tag, the spike in visits to his website had confirmed that the construct was working. Armed with a strong fan fundament, Brothers released his debut full-length, WHO You Are, in May 2007.

Spears goes home to be with sister
Pop singer Britney Spears has reportedly travelled home to Louisiana in order to be with her younger sister Jamie Lynn when she gives birth.
According to People magazine, the star took an "early morning commercial flight" home with her father Jamie, her brother Bryan and her assistant.
Spears is expected to spend some time at her family's Kentwood home ahead of the birth of her sister's baby.

Adam Carolla gets in "Top Gear"
LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - NBC announced Monday morning what listeners to Adam Carolla's radio show have known for a while: The comedian will host the broadcaster's adaptation of the BBC's "Top Gear."
Carolla will join drift racer Tanner Foust and TV construction guru Eric Stromer as the show's presenters. "Gear" targets auto enthusiasts and mixes racing, stunts, challenges and celebrity guests.
NBC announced the show as a pilot in the winter, but the project has not yet been added to the network's year-round schedule, which was unveiled in May.
The original "Gear" premiered in 1977 and is BBC 2's most-watched program in the U.K. The show is broadcast in more than 100 countries and has been airing on BBC America since 2007.

Osbourne Wins Damages From U.K. Tabloid
Rocker Ozzy Osbourne has accepted libel damages from a British tabloid newspaper after it made scathing remarks over his appearance at this year's Brit Awards. Journalists at newspaper the Daily Star claimed the Black Sabbath frontman ruined the show in February by throwing production of the live U.K. TV event into chaos after suffering a health scare. The article under fire, entitled 'Ozzy Freak Show', falsely reported the star fell over twice, prompting Brit Award bosses to call an emergency meeting over whether they should withdraw him from the event and send him to hospital, reports Sky News. The rocker was presenting the show alongside his wife Sharon and their two children Kelly and Jack. The undisclosed amount will be donated to music manager Sharon's charity, the Sharon Osbourne Colon Cancer Program. Osbourne's lawyer John Kelly stated editors at the publication now knew the allegations were "completely untrue". The Osbournes have yet to make an official comment on the libel win as Wenn goes to press.

Actress Kirsten Dunst has checked herself into rehab, according to reports.
The 'Spider-Man' actress has joined Eva Mendes at the Cirque Lodge clinic in Utah, where Lindsay Lohan underwent a two-month treatment programme last year.
A Utah source told Star magazine that Dunst, who has played Spider-Man's love interest Mary Jane Watson in all three movies, broke down in tears when she checked in.
The insider said: "She desperately needed help. She seemed to be intoxicated when she checked in because she was acting really erratic.
"She was extremely emotional, constantly breaking down in tears.She is not in a good place right now, but, thankfully, she's getting the help she needs."
A spokeswoman for Dunst declined to comment last night.

SAG's Rosenberg proposes debate
AFTRA calls suggestion 'disingenuous'
The presidential candidates aren't the only ones looking for a debate.
On Monday, SAG president Alan Rosenberg, citing the spread of misinformation, proposed that SAG and AFTRA hold an official debate on the issues involving AFTRA's newly brokered primetime/TV contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture & Television Producers.
AFTRA declined the invite, calling it "disingenuous" and urging SAG to concentrate on its own negotiations.
AFTRA and SAG have been locking horns over the latter's tentative agreement with the AMPTP, which was reached May 28.
Prior to negotiations with the studios, AFTRA suspended its joint bargaining agreement with SAG to negotiate its own primetime/TV contract. Since then, it's been a war of words between the two performers' unions, which kicked up a notch after AFTRA brokered its deal with the AMPTP.
AFTRA's national board has voted to send the new contract to members for ratification and expects the results by July 7.
SAG and AFTRA share 44,000 members, and SAG has been urging those members to vote down the AFTRA contract. SAG's national executive committee voted 13-10 to launch a campaign -- which is estimated to cost $75,000-$150,000 -- against the AFTRA contract. SAG has held a rally and sent member letters urging a vote no on the deal.
AFTRA in the meantime has started up its own campaign. On Monday, it sent members a detailed e-mail about their deal.
For example, SAG claims that AFTRA achieved no significant gains for middle-class actors and can get better.
But AFTRA counters that it closed a deal that included a 10% increase in pay for all categories, a 13% increase in major role minimums and restored health and retirement coverage for warmup performers that it says was lost when it synchronized its prime time contract with SAG's TV agreement in 2005.
Rosenberg proposed the debate in a letter hand-delivered to AFTRA's Los Angeles office and addressed to the union's president Roberta Reardon. He said the point of the debate would be to clear up conflicting information SAG and AFTRA members are receiving about the tentative agreement and its impact on SAG's current negotiations with the AMPTP.
"I am specifically requesting that we schedule a joint membership meeting over the next week for members in Los Angeles, at which we discuss and debate the facts," Rosenberg wrote. "I hope you agree that it would be productive for members to hear directly from both of their unions."
Rosenberg said the meeting would be a two-hour "full and frank discussion" of the agreement with members presents. Along with him and Reardon, it would include AFTRA's Matt Kimbrough and SAG's David Jolliffe, who served as co-chairs of the wages and working conditions committee that prior to negotiations worked on the proposals for the current talks.
For a moderator, Rosenberg suggested it could be a member of the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor or the Department of Professional Employees.
Despite these offers, Reardon responded, "AFTRA does not believe there is anything about this process that is distracting either SAG or the industry from good-faith negotiations, nor do we believe that it has any impact on the ongoing talks.
"Further, we feel your request is somewhat disingenuous as a public debate would have no real practical purpose," she added. "All it would do is contribute to the destructive and divisive efforts of the last year instigated by the guild's Hollywood leadership."
Rosenberg's proposal comes on the heels of a statement issued Thursday by the AMPTP that took a jab at the public rallies and town hall meetings the union has held since negotiations began.
The AMPTP said the "sideshows" are distractions from the talks and often take place at times when both sides should be negotiating.
SAG's 13-member negotiating committee issued a statement Friday indicating that it is committed to the bargaining process. The message cited six priorities it was focusing on, including significant increases for middle-class actors, increases in pension and health contributions, increase in DVD residuals, protections from product integration auses, preserving force majeure protections and issues regarding new media, including clip consent, jurisdiction over new-media productions and residuals for all original new-media productions.
